Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (CCC # 1213)
Infant baptisms: Baptism of an infant requires a meeting with the parents and Godparents. Information about this process can be found in the documents link below. Baptisms usually take place on Sundays, but may be scheduled at other times as necessary.
Pre-School through High School: We welcome all children under the age of 18 who are seeking the Sacrament of Baptism to participate in a Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) process. Deacon Bruce Ziter and our Faith Formation team members will guide you through the process. Children who are Baptized through RCIC will be able to join their peers in Faith Formation once they are caught up to their grade level. Older children will also be given the opportunity to receive First Holy Communion.
Adults: Adults interested in receiving the Sacrament of Baptism are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process. RCIA is a program designed to teach adults about the Catholic Faith and prepare them to receive the Sacraments.
*All Baptism programs for every age level are led by our Pastoral Minister, Deacon Bruce Ziter. For infant and child Baptisms, please click on the button below for all related documents, including the Baptism checklist.
By Baptism we become members of the Church, the Body of Christ.
In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ's call to holiness. In Baptism, we are asked to walk by the light of Christ and to trust in his wisdom. We are invited to submit our hearts to Christ with ever deeper love.
