HistoryThe Knights of Columbus organization dates back to the 1800’s. It was founded by Fr. Micheal J. McGivney in 1882 at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Fr. McGivney saw firsthand what could happen to a family when the main provider died. This was a time before most government support programs were established. Those hardships pushed him to form the Knights of Columbus to help aid working class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. It has grown to support refugee relief, Catholic education, local parishes and dioceses, global Catholic social causes, local community needs and emergency aid.

Council #230
Practicing Catholic men in good standing with the church are welcome to join the Knights of Columbus. Council #230 aids St. John Paul II, St. Mary of the Assumption, St. Elizabeth of Hungary and Sts. Patrick and Raphael Parishes. We are a group of likeminded men who strive to aid those in need in our local communities. We come together every third Wednesday of the month to discuss council needs.
